Broken Eternity

.................................................................

A wave
rolls toward
a rocky shore
breaking
washing away

A mirror
reflecting a wave
shatters
image vanishing
a cloud of shards

A fossil
nautilus
locked in stone
crushed by a careless tread
scattered, nameless fragments
by a rising sea

A wing
broken
feathers tattered
crying to soar
longing to fly again

A wave
breaks
water rushes
washes away
fossil, mirror, wing
broken eternity
